umber 27 of 80. A cloth portfolio of five striking lithographs (16 ¾” x 23 ¼”) with conjuring themes, each signed and dated by the artist. Folio included. Fine condition. From the introductory remarks to the portfolio: "...the magician as shown by Kurt Steinel appears in a romantic, idealized light: a simple trick is transformed in our minds into a perfect miracle. Something as barbaric as sawing a lady in half becomes a pleasant still-life picture and the figure of the magician is as ethereal as his art."

- Hand prints by the artist on strong wove paper, together with text and title sheet in original linen folder.
- The stones were sanded off after printing.
- The lithographs were created at the suggestion of Edition Huber and Herpel in 1970 and were published by Edition Huber and Herpel, Offenbach am Main.
